As a rule, they work offset\u2014left analytically-sequentially, right associatively-spatially. During NATHAL\u00ae, both are active at the same time and phase-synchronised\u2014a prerequisite that normally requires years of meditation practice.  <\/p><\/article><article class=\"nstep rev d1\"><span class=\"nstep-num\">Phenomenon 2<\/span><h3>New synapses in the adult brain<\/h3><p>In 1985, Dr. Haffelder observed the formation of new synaptic connections during the exercises. Neuroscience did not recognise adult neuroplasticity as a generally valid phenomenon until twelve years later. At the time, this was a bold observation\u2014today it is established doctrine.  <\/p><\/article><article class=\"nstep rev d2\"><span class=\"nstep-num\">Phenomenon 3<\/span><h3>Full cognitive capacity simultaneously<\/h3><p>Analytical thinking (\u03b2), creative openness (\u03b1), associative networking (\u03b8) and deep regeneration (\u03b4) run in parallel. Usually, these states are mutually exclusive.
